When Karratha Indoor Golf opened its doors, it wasn’t just to offer a high-tech place to hit balls, it set out to become a gathering point for our local community. Over the past year and a half, that vision has really come to life.
One of the most powerful reminders of what KIG means to people came during Royce Castano’s Guinness World Record attempt. Royce played 720 virtual holes in 22 hours on our TrackMan simulators, not just for personal glory, but to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. The energy in that 24-hour event was electric, locals cheered, stayed up late to support, and rallied around an incredible cause. It was more than endurance, it was community spirit in action.
We also celebrated our 1st birthday in February 2025, and what a day it was. The venue was packed with regulars and newcomers alike, all coming together to compete in simulator challenges, enjoy good conversation, and just have fun. It wasn’t a formal event, but once again, it showed how KIG is not just a place to practice golf, but somewhere people feel at home.
Part of this sense of belonging comes from our everyday environment. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by friendly staff who know many of our regulars by name. Whether people are there just for a swing, grabbing a coffee in the café, browsing gear in the Pro Shop, or attending a fitting event — there's a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The café itself is a gathering point, with barista-made coffee, snacks, relaxed indoor seating, and even an outdoor area.
Our code of conduct underpins that friendliness. It ensures respect, sportsmanship, and a positive experience for everyone, whether you're a seasoned golfer or new to the game. It’s not just about playing well; it’s about treating each session, each interaction, as something meaningful.
Looking ahead to 2026, we’re excited to build on this foundation. With more coaching sessions, club-fitting events, and community-led competitions, we want KIG to continue being a place for connection, growth, and shared joy. Because for us, golf isn’t just a game, it’s a way to bring people together. If you're looking for things to do in Karratha, come and say hello at Karratha Indoor Golf 2/5 Warambie Road Karratha, WA
Thank you to everyone who’s made KIG more than just simulators, you’ve helped make it a community.
